Susan Middleton in The Green Room

September 27, 2018 By Merwin Conservancy

Susan Middleton at the Honolulu Museum of Art

Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, McCoy Studio Theater

Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Honolulu Museum of Art, Doris Duke Theatre

In this special presentation of The Merwin Conservancy’s “Green Room” literary and environmental salon series, artist and author SUSAN MIDDLETON presented stories and images from two of her acclaimed books. First, a look at the wondrous realm of marine invertebrates, “the little things that run the world” as E.O. Wilson describes them in the foreword to her book SPINELESS. Then, a journey into the world of rare Hawaiian flora and fauna, highlighted W.S. Merwin’s eloquent foreword to the book REMAINS OF A RAINBOW.

Susan was joined on stage by renowned botanist and endangered species expert STEVE PERLMAN for a portion of the presentation, and during a Q&A with the audience following the talk.

This event was presented by FIM Group with additional support from Atherton Family Foundation.
