Did you know? Depending upon the species, palms can be either dioecious or monoecious.
Dioecious means there are different male and female trees, and both a male tree and a female tree are needed to produce seed.
Monoecious means both male and female flowers exist on the same tree, and thus these trees will produce seed themselves, without another tree needed. The well-known Coconut Palm is an example of a monoecious palm.
