“Even though I have been teaching for 21 years, I come to school excited every day and am always looking for new ways to inspire my kiddos.”
Teresa is the kind of teacher who loves a challenge. She sees herself as a motivator and innovator who loves working with the “roughest” kids. She learns as much as she can about her students and advocates for them on campus. She’s been known to assign them the task of going out at night, turning off all technology, and staring up at the stars. She then has them write a sonnet that includes about their experience that includes a natural element. Teresa has a deep appreciation for the natural world. Before receiving her Masters in Educational Foundations from the University of Manoa, she worked as first mate on a tour boat for seventeen years. Her respect and love for all nature run deep.
