“I truly believe this fellowship can be the drop which creates the ripples, and I intend to make those ripples count.”
A graduate of Santa Clara University, Kelsey has a BA in English Literature with an emphasis on Creative Writing and Medieval Literature. She loves the collaborative, close-knit experience of teaching in a small, private high school, but is looking forward to “getting our of her bubble” and talking to people from other parts of the state who work with students from diverse backgrounds. She’s the sort of passionate teacher who challenges her students’ world views during lunchtime debates and likes to get her hands dirty with sustainability and gardening projects. As a creative writer, she has a deep love for language, feeling that it’s “so much more than our primary mode of communication. It’s the way we express different parts of ourselves, it’s the stories we tell, it’s the dreams we experience and plan for and live out.”
