Empty Bottles Under the House

May 22, 2020 By Sara Tekula

Found under W.S. Merwin and Paula Merwin’s home: empty bottles of 1962 Château des Moines, Lalande de Pomerol. This was a place of solitude and stillness, but of conviviality as well!

At the end of a day a glass of wine makes the evening a celebration. And the bottle is never trash. Under the house is a good place to place it. When glass ages the surface loses its hard gloss and becomes softly iridescent.
