In these early months of stewarding the Merwins’ house, we are making discoveries that surprise and delight us.
The objects, letters, scrap paper notes and old photographs add nuance and depth to our understanding and commitment. As we go, we’ll share some of these finds with you in a new series called “Storied Objects.”
First, we peek inside W.S. Merwin’s cedar tea cabinet, filled with his collection of loose leaf tea in labeled canisters.
Randi says
Thanks for revealing Merwin’s magical cabinet of teas with enchanting names that conjure poetic images.
Sara Tekula says
You’re most welcome, Randi!

Drinking tea now with memories of William, I am suddenly awakened to a classic line from Li Bai…

Have a cup of tea with us…

Sara Tekula says
That is beautiful, Michael.
William says
