A Conversation with W.S. Merwin
We are thrilled to announce an intimate evening gathering with poet laureate W.S. Merwin to celebrate and discuss his book-length narrative poem based on the true story of a small band of Hawaiians on Kauai in the 19th century.
This private gathering at the historic Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center is limited to the first 60 people who purchase tickets. Proceeds will support The Merwin Conservancy. The program includes:
- A short preview of the documentary-in-progress, Even Though the World Is Burning, that captures the uncompromising life and work of W.S. Merwin.
- Original photography & art of Merwin’s palms/poetry by Gwen Arkin. Silent auction sale of this one-of-a-kind artwork.
